Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba on April 20, 2026 fulfilled his pledge by handing over a wheelchair to Helena Joseph Mwandu, a person with special needs, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Mlimwa, Dodoma.
The support came just a day after the Prime Minister made the commitment during a public rally held at the Msanga Primary School grounds in Chamwino District, where he met Helena following his address to residents.
During the interaction, Dr Nchemba was touched by Helena’s condition and assured her that the government would provide a wheelchair to ease her mobility challenges.
Speaking after receiving the wheelchair, Helena expressed her appreciation, saying the support will significantly improve her daily life and enable her to move more independently while carrying out her activities.
The timely fulfilment of the promise underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of vulnerable groups, particularly people with disabilities, as part of broader efforts to promote inclusive social development across the country.
