Alliance for Change and Transparency (ACT-Wazalendo) formally entered the 2025 general election race today as its presidential candidate, Mr. Luhaga Joelson Mpina, collected nomination forms to the National Electoral Commission (INEC).
INEC Chair, Judge of the Court of Appeal Jacobs Mwambegele, personally handed over the forms to Mr. Mpina, who was accompanied by his running mate, Ms. Fatma Abdulhabib Ferej.
INEC is scheduled to complete the verification and nomination process on August 27, 2025.
During the submission, INEC’s Election Director, Mr. Ramadhan Kailima, guided the candidates on properly filling out the nomination register.
Both Mr. Mpina and Ms. Ferej signed the official register in the presence of INEC officials and party members.
Judge Mwambegele welcomed the submission, stressing the importance of adhering to electoral procedures to ensure a transparent process.
Party members filled the hall to witness the milestone, highlighting ACT-Wazalendo’s readiness to contest the national leadership.
The move signals the party’s formal participation in the presidential race, joining other political parties in the country’s democratic process.
