Dar es Salaam hosts Free Legal Clinic for residents

By The Respondents Reporter

Dar es Salaam residents are attending the ongoing Free Legal Clinic organized by the Office of the Attorney General at Mnazi Mmoja grounds.

The clinic, running until February 22, 2026, provides free legal advisory services to the public.

Ms. Mwema Punzi, Chairperson of the Dar es Salaam Regional Legal Advisory Committee and Government Attorney, said the clinic has received strong public turnout, showing a high demand for legal guidance.

“Residents continue to come in large numbers seeking legal services. Our team of Government Attorneys is ready to assist with a range of legal issues,” Ms. Punzi said, urging people to continue visiting the clinic.

Residents who attended reported that the attorneys provide clear explanations and guidance on legal matters.

Mr. Husein Mfaume, a resident of Ilala, said he received advice on a long-standing inheritance issue and learned the steps he needed to take.

Ms. Diana Chilowaka noted that the clinic allows residents to access legal services at no cost and called for similar clinics to be held regularly.

The Free Legal Clinic was officially launched by Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Hon. Albert Chalamila, on February 16, 2026, and continues to operate at Mnazi Mmoja grounds.
