Vice President Dr. Philip Isdor Mpango has praised President Samia Suluhu Hassan for spearheading major transformations in Buhigwe District, saying her leadership has brought tangible progress to the Kigoma Region.

Addressing a campaign rally in Buhigwe, Dr. Mpango said the government’s investment in road infrastructure has eased daily life and unlocked economic potential for the district.

“The construction of tarmac roads in Buhigwe has simplified business and social activities, while also opening the area to wider economic opportunities,” he said.

He pointed to key gains in education and health achieved over the past four years under the sixth-phase government, including the establishment of a Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) campus in Kigoma Ujiji and the construction of the Western Zone Referral Hospital.

Dr. Mpango also took a personal moment to thank President Samia for appointing him Vice President in 2021, calling it a profound honor for himself, the people of Buhigwe, and the Kigoma Region at large.

“On behalf of Buhigwe and Kigoma, I thank you for the trust and respect you placed in me by appointing me Vice President. I believe I have served to the best of my ability, and I am grateful to CCM for endorsing your decision,” he noted.

Dr. Mpango, who is also a member of the CCM Central Committee, underscored that President Samia’s leadership has strengthened both local and national development, urging residents of Buhigwe to back her bid in the upcoming general election.
