Residents and businesses in Mbagala and Kigamboni are currently without electricity following a technical fault in the city’s power network, the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) has confirmed.
In an official statement, TANESCO said the disruption occurred due to a fault in the transmission line linking Kurasa Power Supply Station to the Dege Beach substation in Kigamboni.
The incident has temporarily affected electricity services for customers in the two areas.
TANESCO assured the public that repair teams are already on site and working to restore power. The company expects normal electricity supply to resume by 12:00 noon.
Customers were urged to remain patient as maintenance work continues.
The notice was issued by TANESCO’s Directorate of Customer Communication and Service from the company’s Dodoma headquarters.
