Komba vows to end water shortages in Muheza

Opposition CHAUMMA parliamentary candidate for Muheza Constituency, Ms. Yosepha Komba, has promised to solve the area’s chronic water shortage if voters give her the mandate in the October General Election.

Speaking at a campaign rally, Ms. Komba said access to clean and reliable water remains the biggest challenge for residents.

“We have water sources at Hale and Magoroto, but the supply rarely reaches the people. If elected, I will ensure every household gets water,” she said.

Ms. Komba also highlighted poor road conditions that make many routes impassable during both rainy and dry seasons, affecting transport and local trade.

She pledged to improve roads and expand access to healthcare, pointing out severe shortages of doctors, medicines, and modern medical equipment.

She appealed for support across all political lines, promising to serve the entire constituency fairly. Ms. Komba recalled that in 2020, she worked with local communities to design a joint development plan, which she has now published for public accountability.

“This plan allows people to hold me accountable for my promises and actions,” she explained.

Her pledges align with CHAUMMA’s national manifesto, which prioritizes health and social services. The party promises to allocate 15 percent of the national budget to health, introduce universal health insurance, and provide meals for hospital patients.

The manifesto also emphasizes expanding telemedicine to rural and island communities, improving water and sanitation in health facilities, and strengthening roads to connect villages with markets and hospitals.

Ms. Komba urged Muheza residents to support her vision. “The people deserve reliable water, passable roads, and better healthcare. With your support, we can make these promises a reality,” she said.
