The Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, and Coordination), Dr Jim Yonazi, has applauded World Vision Tanzania for its continued support to the government, especially in times of national emergencies and in advancing nutrition services across the country.

Speaking in Dodoma on June 24, 2025, during a meeting with the organisation’s Country Director, Dr. Joseph Mayala, Dr. Yonazi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with development partners that play an active role in improving the lives of Tanzanians.

The meeting was part of World Vision Tanzania’s formal engagement to introduce its leadership and to express appreciation for the collaborative work with the Prime Minister’s Office, particularly in disaster management and nutrition programmes.

Dr Yonazi said World Vision had consistently stepped in to assist the government during disasters, helping to safeguard vulnerable communities.

“I want to thank World Vision for always showing up when Tanzanians need support the most. Your commitment and speed in responding to disasters have made a real difference. This is something to be emulated,” said Dr. Yonazi.

He noted that the government values partnerships that complement its efforts in delivering essential services, and assured the organisation of continued cooperation.

Dr. Mayala expressed his organisation’s readiness to strengthen ties with the government and continue supporting key areas such as child nutrition, emergency preparedness, and community resilience.

World Vision Tanzania is one of the largest humanitarian organisations operating in the country, with programmes focused on child protection, health, education, livelihoods, and disaster response in both urban and rural communities.
