By Victoria Godfrey

Tanzania’s women’s national football team, Twiga Stars, will face Botswana in the first leg of the women’s Olympic qualifying round on October 9 in Botswana.

The Tanzanian side will then return home for the second leg, scheduled for October 13, as it seeks to advance in the qualification process for the women’s football tournament at the Olympic Games.

The two matches will determine Twiga Stars’ progress in the next stage of the qualification campaign, with the team aiming to move closer to securing a place at the Olympics.

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Information and Communications Officer Clifford Mario Ndimbo said the matches are part of Twiga Stars’ campaign to secure an Olympic qualification ticket.

The team is expected to use the two-legged tie to build on its preparations and compete for progression in the continental qualification process.
