The Mining Commission has set the indicative buying-centre price for gold at TZS324,799.15 per gram for September 24, 2026, amid a world market price of USD4,317.60 per troy ounce.
The commission’s daily indicative prices show that gold’s world market value translates to TZS369,089.94 per gram, while the mineral market price has been set at TZS332,180.95 per gram.
The buying-centre price is about TZS7,382 per gram lower than the mineral market price, according to figures issued by the commission.
For silver, the world market price was quoted at USD65.19 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS5,572.76 per gram.
The mineral market price for silver stood at TZS5,015.49 per gram, while the indicative buying-centre price was TZS4,904.03 per gram.
Copper was quoted at USD6.69 per pound on the world market, equivalent to TZS39.22 per gram.
The commission placed the mineral market price for copper at TZS35.29 per gram, with the buying-centre price set at TZS34.51 per gram.
The indicative prices provide reference points for transactions involving the three minerals, with differences between world market, mineral market and buying-centre prices reflecting the pricing structure used in the domestic mineral trade.
The latest figures come as Tanzania continues to regulate mineral trading through licensed buying centres and other authorised channels as part of efforts to strengthen transparency and ensure that miners receive prices linked to prevailing international markets.
