Mineral indicative prices for September 23, 2026


The Mining Commission has set the indicative buying-centre price of gold at TZS327,806.37 per gram, while silver and copper were priced at TZS5,016.04 and TZS34.92 per gram respectively on September 23, 2026.

According to indicative mineral prices issued by the Mining Commission, the world market price for gold stood at $4,358.30 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS372,507.24 per gram.

The commission placed the mineral market price for gold at TZS335,256.52 per gram, while the buying-centre price was TZS327,806.37.

For silver, the world market price was $66.69 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS5,700.05 per gram. The mineral market price was TZS5,130.04 per gram, while buying centres were advised to use TZS5,016.04 per gram as the indicative price.

Copper was listed at $6.77 per pound on the world market, equivalent to TZS39.68 per gram. Its mineral market price was TZS35.71 per gram, while the indicative buying-centre price stood at TZS34.92 per gram.

The figures are part of the Mining Commission's regular publication of indicative mineral prices used as a reference for mineral trading in Tanzania.

The prices are based on prevailing international market prices and the applicable exchange rate and may change in line with movements in global commodity markets.
