Tanzania’s indicative mineral prices show gold trading at Sh341,008.23 per gram at the mineral market level on September 5, 2026, while buying centres are offering Sh333,430.27 per gram, according to the latest price comparison.

The figures show a notable gap between international market prices and prices applicable in Tanzania. Gold was quoted at $4,446.10 per troy ounce on the world market, equivalent to about Sh378,898.03 per gram.

Silver was trading at Sh5,126.51 per gram at the mineral market level, compared with Sh5,012.59 per gram at buying centres. Its international price stood at $66.84 per troy ounce, equivalent to approximately Sh5,696.13 per gram.

Copper recorded a world market price of $6.57 per pound, equivalent to Sh38.39 per gram. The mineral market price in Tanzania was Sh34.55 per gram, while buying centres were offering Sh33.79 per gram.

The indicative prices provide a reference for mineral trading in Tanzania and help miners, dealers and other players in the sector assess prevailing market values.

Gold remains the most valuable of the three minerals listed, with the international price translating to a significantly higher per-gram value than the domestic mineral market and buying-centre prices.

The comparison also highlights the importance of monitoring international commodity markets, exchange-rate movements and domestic trading conditions, all of which can influence mineral prices received by producers and traders.
