Rufiji. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camillus Wambura has assured residents of Jaribu Mpakani Village in Rufiji that the security situation in the country remains stable, urging them to continue with their economic and social activities without fear.
IGP Wambura made the remarks on September 4, 2026, when he met and held discussions with village leaders in Jaribu Mpakani, Mjawa Ward, as part of his inspection tour of police infrastructure in the Rufiji Police Region.
He said the prevailing peace and security should give Tanzanians confidence to pursue economic activities and contribute to development in their communities.
“The security situation in the country is calm and stable. I urge you to continue with your economic and social activities and focus on development,” he said.
The police chief also called on parents and guardians to strengthen the upbringing of children and promote moral values, saying this would help nurture a responsible society that appreciates and protects the peace enjoyed in the country.
He stressed the importance of patriotism and community participation in safeguarding peace and security, noting that maintaining stability was a shared responsibility between security organs and citizens.
During the tour, IGP Wambura also inspected ongoing construction and infrastructure projects involving police stations and the office of the Regional Police Commander.
He said the Tanzania Police Force would continue to recognise and appreciate efforts by the Sixth-Phase Government to provide resources aimed at strengthening the force and improving its working environment.
According to him, investment in police infrastructure was important in enhancing the force’s operational capacity and enabling officers to deliver services more effectively while protecting the lives and property of citizens.
IGP Wambura was accompanied by the Commissioner of Finance and Logistics, CP Liberatus Sabas; Director of Criminal Investigations, DCI Ramadhani Kingai; Commissioner of Administration and Human Resources Management, CP Tatu Jumbe; and other senior police officers.
