Tumbe Member of Parliament Juma Abdallah Juma (ACT-Wazalendo) has invested TZS 14.85 million in education and community development projects, providing equipment and construction materials aimed at improving public services across the constituency.
The support package, distributed on July 30, included a photocopy machine worth TZS 4.2 million for Shumba Vyomboni Primary School, three computers valued at TZS 5.25 million for Chimba School and 180 roofing sheets worth TZS 5 million for the construction of the headquarters of the Kinguni Development Association.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mr Juma said the investments were part of ongoing efforts to address community needs and strengthen institutions serving residents of Tumbe Constituency.
He urged teachers and school administrators to ensure the donated equipment is properly maintained to maximise its long-term benefits.
“We have secured these resources to support education services. It is important that they are used and maintained well so they continue benefiting students and teachers for years to come,” he said.
Shumba Vyomboni Primary School head teacher Seif Khamis Ali said the photocopy machine would improve the school's operations by enabling the timely production of examinations, learning materials and administrative documents.
“The machine will save us both time and costs because we will no longer have to travel to neighbouring areas to access photocopying services,” he said.
At Chimba School, Mr Juma called on teachers to make effective use of the computers to enhance teaching and learning, particularly as schools increasingly embrace digital technology in education.
The MP also expressed support for the Kinguni Development Association, noting that the organisation plays an important role in promoting social and economic development within the constituency.
He said completion of the association’s headquarters would provide a permanent base for coordinating community projects and delivering services to residents.
Kinguni Development Association chairman Hemed Said Masoud welcomed the donation, saying the roofing sheets would help speed up construction of the building and enable the organisation to expand its development activities.
Residents who attended the handover events praised the initiative, describing it as a practical step towards fulfilling development commitments made during the election campaign.
Mr Juma told journalists that the implementation of his constituency development agenda would continue in phases, with additional initiatives expected in the coming months.
