The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) is using the 32nd Nane Nane National Agricultural Exhibition in Dodoma to expand access to business registration services, offering traders, farmers and entrepreneurs an opportunity to formalize their enterprises without visiting the agency's offices.
The services are being provided at the Nzuguni exhibition grounds from August 1 to 8, 2026, as part of BRELA's efforts to promote business formalization and support economic growth.
Speaking during the exhibition, BRELA Registration Officer Yusuf Mwasakafyuka said the agency aims to make its services more accessible while raising public awareness about the benefits of operating legally registered businesses.
He said visitors to the BRELA pavilion can access a wide range of services, including business name registration, company incorporation, issuance of Group A Business Licences, trademark and industrial property registration, as well as professional advisory services.
“We encourage traders, farmers and all citizens engaged in economic activities to visit our pavilion and take advantage of the services available. Formalizing a business creates opportunities for growth and access to wider markets,” said Mr Mwasakafyuka.
He noted that BRELA is also showcasing its upgraded digital registration system, which has simplified the application process and improved service delivery.
According to him, the enhanced platform allows users to submit applications, upload supporting documents and monitor the progress of their requests online from any location, reducing the need for physical visits and lowering transaction costs.
“The objective is to ensure that our services are accessible to all citizens. Customers can now apply for services from their homes, workplaces or any other location through the online platform,” he said.
Mr Mwasakafyuka added that the upgraded system has strengthened transparency and security by ensuring shareholders receive notifications whenever changes are made to company ownership or other key corporate information.
He explained that applicants using the digital platform must possess a National Identification Number (NIDA), an active mobile phone number and a valid email address, which are required during the registration process.
He further urged farmers and entrepreneurs attending the exhibition to formalize their businesses, noting that registration improves access to financing, government procurement opportunities, partnerships and broader commercial markets.
BRELA is responsible for business registration and formalization in Tanzania, including company and business name registration, trademark registration and the issuance of Group A Business Licences.
Through its participation in the 2026 Nane Nane Exhibition, the agency seeks to increase public awareness of its services and support the growth of formal enterprises, which remain a key pillar of Tanzania’s economic development.
The 2026 Nane Nane National Agricultural Exhibition is being held under the theme: “Know Your Market, Increase Productivity and Deliver the National Development Vision 2050.”
