Tanzania will continue strengthening strategic partnerships with development partners and investors to accelerate infrastructure development across Africa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Dr Natu El-Maamry Mwamba, has said.
Speaking during a gala dinner hosted by the Government of Tanzania for delegates attending the Africa50 Annual General Shareholders Meeting and the Infra for Africa Forum in Dar es Salaam, Dr Mwamba said collaboration between African governments, development finance institutions and private investors remains critical in addressing the continent’s infrastructure financing needs.
He said Tanzania's partnership with Africa50 and other development institutions has contributed to efforts aimed at expanding infrastructure investment and supporting economic growth.
According to Dr Mwamba, Dar es Salaam’s selection as the host city for the continental gathering reflects growing confidence in Tanzania as a destination for investment and a key player in Africa’s infrastructure agenda.
“Beyond the technical discussions taking place during these meetings, this event provides an opportunity to strengthen relationships, build friendships and expand professional networks among participants,” he said.
He noted that such engagements are important in fostering cooperation that can help develop transformative infrastructure projects across the continent.
Dr Mwamba also highlighted Tanzania’s social stability and cultural diversity as factors that continue to attract investors.
He said the country is home to more than 120 ethnic groups that coexist peacefully, creating an environment that supports economic development and long-term investment.
The gala dinner featured cultural performances, music and traditional cuisine aimed at showcasing Tanzania’s heritage to delegates from across Africa and beyond.
Dr Mwamba encouraged participants to use the forum to deepen discussions on innovative financing and infrastructure solutions capable of improving the lives of millions of Africans.
