ACT Wazalendo Secretary-General Ado Shaib Ado has stepped up efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures in Pemba, concluding a tour of Wete with a review of its performance, challenges and future priorities.
Mr Ado held a review meeting with senior party leaders in Wete on Sunday, August 30, 2026, where they assessed the party’s organisational progress and identified areas requiring greater attention.
The meeting brought together Wete ACT Wazalendo Regional Chairman Juma Khamis Ali; Pandani Representative and Zanzibar House of Representatives Chief Whip Prof Omar Fakih Hamad; Pemba Party Coordinator Rashid Ali Abdallah; Gando Representative and Union Parliament Chief Whip Said Ali Mbarouk; Wete Constituency Representative Shafi Muhammed Shafi; and former Mtambwe MP Khalifa Muhammed Issa.
The leaders reviewed the party’s performance in Wete, including progress made and challenges affecting its activities, as the leadership seeks to strengthen its structures and engagement with members.
The meeting was held at the ACT Wazalendo regional office in Kilima Ndege, Wete.After the meeting, Mr Ado met party members in Kiuyu Minungwini, where he discussed issues affecting the party and its membership.
He later travelled to Mbuzini, Pemba, where he joined his delegation in conveying condolences to the family of Farida Amour Muhammed following the death of her son-in-law, Al Marhum Suleiman Said Suleiman.
The visit was part of the party’s wider engagement with members and communities during the Secretary-General’s tour.
Mr Ado also visited Siti Hamad Kombo, whose house was destroyed by fire, leaving her without her household belongings.
On behalf of ACT Wazalendo, he pledged assistance to help Ms Kombo replace some of the essential items lost in the incident.
The tour highlights the party leadership’s focus on strengthening grassroots structures while maintaining direct engagement with members and communities and responding to those affected by bereavement and disasters.
