Tanzania has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its long-standing partnership with Sweden as it bid farewell to Swedish Ambassador Charlotta Ozaki Macias, who is concluding her diplomatic assignment in the country.
The Acting Director of the Europe and Americas Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ms Hellen Maduhu, met the outgoing envoy in Dar es Salaam on July 27, where the two reviewed the progress made in bilateral relations during Ambassador Macias' tenure.
Ms Maduhu commended the ambassador for her role in deepening diplomatic engagement and advancing development cooperation between the two countries, noting that the partnership has continued to deliver tangible benefits in areas of mutual interest.
She said Tanzania highly values its enduring relationship with Sweden and remains committed to expanding cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
The acting director also wished Ambassador Macias success in her future assignments, expressing confidence that the cordial ties built over the years would continue to flourish.
For her part, Ambassador Macias thanked the Tanzanian government for the support and cooperation extended to her throughout her posting, describing the experience as rewarding.
She pledged to remain a strong advocate for Tanzania-Sweden relations and expressed confidence that the two countries would continue to strengthen their longstanding partnership beyond the end of her diplomatic mission.
