Zanzibar President Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi has invited Palestinian investors to invest in the Isles, pitching opportunities in strategic sectors such as energy, oil and gas, tourism and the blue economy as his administration seeks to expand foreign investment and accelerate economic growth.

Dr Mwinyi extended the invitation on Wednesday, July 1, during a meeting with the Palestinian Ambassador to Tanzania, Salam Abu Sharar, at the State House in Zanzibar.

The talks centred on strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding economic and social cooperation between Zanzibar and Palestine.

The President said the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar remains committed to maintaining a favourable investment climate and working closely with development partners to implement projects that support sustainable economic growth and create opportunities for the people of Zanzibar.

He said the Isles offer significant investment potential across several high-growth sectors and encouraged Palestinian businesses to explore the available opportunities.

Ambassador Abu Sharar said Palestine was keen to open a new chapter in its economic partnership with Zanzibar, citing the Isles' growing strategic importance in regional development.

He added that Palestine would continue to strengthen its long-standing historical relationship with Zanzibar while exploring new areas of collaboration that would generate shared economic benefits for both sides.
