The Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital (MZRH) has awarded certificates and prizes to its best-performing staff in recognition of excellence across various areas of healthcare service delivery.
The awards were presented today during the 2026 International Workers’ Day (May Day) celebrations held at the hospital’s main hall.
The event aimed to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of outstanding employees who have played a key role in ensuring patients receive timely and quality healthcare services.
Speaking during the ceremony, Acting Executive Director of Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital, Dr. Lazaro Mboma, commended the award recipients and urged them to continue setting a strong example for their colleagues.
“These awards serve as a motivation to work harder. We recognize your outstanding service and expect to see even greater improvements in performance as we strive to achieve the government’s goal of providing quality healthcare services to the people of the Southern Highlands,” said Dr. Mboma.
The event was attended by senior hospital officials and invited guests from the Tanzania Medical Doctors, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (TMDPWU), who encouraged staff to uphold professionalism while safeguarding workers’ rights and welfare.
National May Day celebrations this year are being held in Njombe Region under the theme: “Decent Work is a Strong Pillar for Sustainable Development in Implementing the National Vision 2050.”
Award recipients expressed gratitude to the hospital management for recognizing their efforts, pledging to continue working with professionalism, discipline, and dedication in support of the country’s long-term development goals under Vision 2050.
