Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga) delivered a commanding performance to beat Singida Black Stars 3-0 in a Tanzanian Premier League (NBC Premier League) clash yesterday at Airtel Mwigulu Stadium.

In Mbeya, Azam FC and Tanzania Prisons played out a goalless draw at Sokoine Stadium, sharing a point each.

The Singida encounter started with intensity. In the 19th minute, Singida midfielder Emmanuel Keyeke received a yellow card for a foul on Maxi Nzengeli. Both teams pushed forward, but defensive discipline kept the first half tightly contested.

Yanga broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when striker Prince Dube converted a neat pass from Nzengeli. Just before halftime, Singida’s Morice Chukwu was cautioned for a foul on Dube near the penalty area.

In stoppage time, Allan Okello doubled Yanga’s lead with a confident penalty, sending the visitors into the break 2-0 ahead.

The second half saw Yanga maintain control. In the 53rd minute, Mudathir Yahya netted the third goal after capitalizing on a rebound from Dube’s powerful shot, putting the game beyond Singida’s reach.

Meanwhile, the Mbeya fixture between Azam FC and Tanzania Prisons ended in a 0-0 stalemate, with both teams struggling to break down well-organized defenses.

Yanga’s victory strengthens their position at the top of the league standings, while Singida Black Stars will need to address defensive weaknesses ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
