Tanzania’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, CP. Suzan S. Kaganda, has met with China’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Zhou Ding, to discuss ways of deepening cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kaganda commended the Chinese government for its continued support as a key development partner, particularly through funding and implementing strategic infrastructure projects such as modern bridges, roads, and railways.

She said these initiatives have played a vital role in boosting Tanzania’s economy and improving services for citizens.

Ambassador Kaganda also highlighted China’s support in education, noting the provision of scholarships to Tanzanian youth at various academic levels.

She emphasized that this collaboration demonstrates China’s commitment not only to the Tanzanian government but also to the development of individual citizens.

In response, Ambassador Zhou thanked Ambassador Kaganda for the visit and reaffirmed China’s commitment to sustaining and expanding its longstanding partnership with Tanzania.

He said the relationship is rooted in historical ties, including collaboration dating back to Tanzania’s Ujamaa Policy era.

Ambassador Zhou also pointed out that Zimbabwe is among the African countries that have benefited from the friendship between Tanzania and China.

He acknowledged Tanzania’s historic role in supporting liberation movements in Southern Africa, including Zimbabwe, a contribution that continues to be valued and respected.
