Tanzanian football giants Yanga SC have safely arrived in Malawi and started training ahead of their first-leg CAF Champions League match set for October 18.
The team will undergo two days of intensive preparation, with today’s session already underway and tomorrow’s session scheduled to finalize tactics and address any last-minute adjustments before the away game.
Yanga’s Communications Officer, Ally Kamwe, said the squad, officials, and fans traveled together to show full support for the team and boost morale ahead of the match. All players are in excellent physical and mental condition, except Prince Dube, Duke Abuya, and Pacome Zouzoua, who will join the squad directly in Malawi.
“Preparations have been thorough. Our final training sessions began yesterday evening and continued this morning to ensure the team is fully ready for tomorrow’s match,” Kamwe said.
Aden Mohamed, head of the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) delegation and member of its Executive Committee, expressed confidence in Yanga’s performance.
“Yanga is an experienced and well-prepared team. We expect a strong, competitive game, and the team is ready to fight for victory away from home,” Mohamed said.
He added that the squad will respect their opponents while aiming to secure a solid win to start their CAF Champions League campaign on a high note.
