The Tanzania Minerals Commission is undertaking a major management retreat in Tanga to assess its performance and set new strategies aimed at strengthening the country’s mining sector.

The high-level meeting brought together Commissioners Theonestina Mwasha and Dr. Theresia Numbi, Executive Secretary Engineer Ramadhani Lwamo, directors, managers, and regional resident mining officers.

During the retreat, participants examined ways to enhance the mining sector’s contribution to the national economy.

Discussions focused on improving regulatory oversight, promoting local value addition, and encouraging sustainable investment in the sector.

The Commission has continued to drive development in Tanzania’s mining industry through robust regulation, licensing, miner education, and monitoring of mining operations at all levels of production.

The management retreat signals the Commission’s commitment to ensuring the sector supports economic growth while safeguarding Tanzania’s mineral resources for long-term national benefit.
