Yanga Sports Club has set aside TZS 33 billion for the upcoming 2025/2026 football season, which is scheduled to kick off on September 17 across various stadiums. This represents a 32% increase from last season’s TZS 25 billion budget.

The club’s Vice Chairman, Arafat Haji, presented the budget during a general meeting held today in Dar es Salaam.

He explained that the increase is driven by three main priorities: constructing stadium infrastructure, signing internationally recognized players, and allocating funds to strengthen the team’s performance in the CAF Champions League.

“Our 2025/2026 budget has grown by 32% to focus on these key areas, with the aim of advancing and elevating our club to higher levels,” Haji said.

Yanga President, Eng. Hersi Said, reaffirmed his commitment to completing the club’s stadium project. During the meeting, the Minister of Lands, participating via phone, promised that the club will receive the title deed for Jangwani Stadium within two weeks.

The Lands Commissioner is actively processing the documents to ensure timely delivery.

Eng. Said also highlighted efforts to attract new sponsors to increase the club’s value and urged members to continue paying their membership fees to support the team’s ambitions.

Reflecting on last season, Eng. Said described it as historic, with Yanga winning five championship trophies.

“One of our long-term goals remains bringing the CAF Champions League trophy home, and we are committed to achieving this,” he added.

He thanked all sponsors for their continued support, which contributed to the club’s successes last season.

“This year, we plan strategic signings of top-level players, who will be officially introduced on Citizen’s Day, September 12, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam,” Eng. Said said.

Alex Mgongolwa, Chairman of the Transformation Committee, revealed that the club’s overall value now stands at TZS 100 billion, enabling further transformation under the club’s legal and constitutional frameworks in the stock market.

Additionally, Yanga’s Communications Officer, Ally Kamwe, announced that renowned music artist Zuhura Othman Soud, popularly known as ‘Zuchu,’ will lead entertainment activities during Citizen’s Week on September 12 in Dar es Salaam.
