JKT Queens have set their sights on lifting the CECAFA Women’s Club Championship trophy in Nairobi, Kenya, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Tanzanian champions will begin their campaign on September 5 against Zanzibar’s JKU Princess, a fixture that marks the start of their journey in the regional competition which kicks off a day earlier, September 4.

According to JKT/JKT Queens Communication Officer, Masau Bwire, the team has already arrived in Nairobi, with both players and the technical bench in good condition and determined to perform.

“Our preparations have gone well, and the team is fully ready for the challenge ahead. We thank God we arrived safely in Kenya, and on September 5 we will raise the Tanzanian flag in our first game against JKU. The players are motivated and eager to fight for victory,” Bwire said.

He stressed that JKT Queens are not only targeting success in CECAFA but are also determined to secure a spot in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

“Our main goal is to win this championship and book our place in the CAF Women’s Champions League. We believe we have the quality and the spirit to achieve this,” he added.

Bwire also appealed to Tanzanians to support the team as they represent the country in Nairobi.

“We ask Tanzanians to keep us in their prayers and encourage us throughout this campaign. With their support, we believe we can make history,” he said.
