As Zanzibar gears up for elections, CCM presidential candidate Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi yesterday launched the party’s campaign at Mnazi Mmoja Grounds in Mjini Magharibi, pledging to accelerate economic growth and create opportunities for young people.
Dr. Mwinyi, who also serves as Vice Chairman of CCM Zanzibar, President of Zanzibar, and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, highlighted job creation as a key priority, promising over 350,000 new positions for youth.
He also outlined plans to boost agriculture, industry, infrastructure, and social empowerment programs, including access to loans and housing.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Mwinyi said Zanzibar’s economy had grown by 7.4 percent, adding that the next government would focus on attracting investment, strengthening tourism, and expanding industrial development to maintain and accelerate this growth.
“Economic empowerment is central to our agenda. Every young Zanzibari deserves the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from Zanzibar’s progress,” he said.
Dr. Mwinyi assured voters that CCM’s campaign would remain peaceful, advocating stability and unity, and called on citizens to trust CCM candidates, including Union presidential candidate Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
