TAFF seeks TZS98 million to support Tembo Warriors, Tembo Queens

The Tanzania Amputee Football Federation (TAFF) has announced it needs TSh98 million to prepare the national men’s and women’s teams for the Council for East and Central Africa Amputee Football (CECAAF) Championship, set to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from September 8 to 14 this year.

The funds will cover key expenses, including the USD 8,000 participation fee for both teams, players’ and technical staff allowances, training camp logistics, food, accommodation, and sports gear.

TAFF’s First Vice President, Abduli Mashine, said the government has already provided support by covering transport for the teams to and from Burundi, but additional assistance is urgently needed to ensure successful preparations.

“We are grateful for the government’s contribution, but we still appeal to stakeholders and sports lovers to come forward and support our young men and women as they represent the nation,” said Mashine.

Technical Director Shaban Msangi confirmed that training sessions have already begun. Players based in Dar es Salaam are attending a centralized camp, while those outside the city are continuing preparations with their clubs until a joint camp is organized.

“Our objective is to build strong and competitive teams that can make Tanzania proud on the regional stage. We call upon every Tanzanian, especially sports supporters, to contribute through Lipa Namba 16408978,” Msangi said.

Both Tembo Warriors and Tembo Queens are set to fly the national flag high at the CECAAF Championship, where they will battle against other regional powerhouses in the sport.
