DAR ES SALAAM: Azam FC have commenced their pre-season training under Head Coach Florent Ibenge as preparations intensify for the 2025/26 NBC Premier League and international competitions.

“This was our first training session as we begin to shape the team for the new season. It was a good opportunity to assess some of the players and understand the team’s current direction,” said the Congolese tactician.
Ibenge noted that several players are yet to report to camp due to national team commitments but expressed optimism about their continued performance.
“I’ve seen a few of the new signings, but I’m still waiting for the national team players to return. I hope they go far in their international duties it’s good for Tanzania and good for us when they come back in strong form,” he added.
Azam FC are expected to travel to Arusha later this week for an intensive residential camp as part of their build-up to the new campaign.
In another development, Coach Ibenge has appointed Kassim Liogope, head coach of Azam’s U-20 team, to join the senior team’s technical bench.
Liogope led Azam U-20 to the Youth Premier League title last season and previously managed Dodoma Jiji in the top tier before joining the Chamazi based club.
