The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) has been named the overall winner in the trade facilitation category at the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), commonly known as Sabasaba.
The award was presented by the Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr. Suleiman Jafo, during the official opening of the exhibition.
BRELA’s recognition reflects its continued efforts to simplify access to business registration and licensing services. The agency has embraced technology to enhance efficiency and improve customer experience.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Seka Kasera, said the award was a result of early preparation and commitment to service excellence.
“We made our exhibition preparations on time and started operations promptly, providing services in a smart way,” he said shortly after receiving the award.
He noted that customer satisfaction remains a top priority for the agency.
“We normally close our pavilion only after making sure all customers have been served well,” he said, adding that the agency’s staff conduct daily performance reviews to assess service delivery.
This marks the second consecutive year that BRELA has taken the top position in the trade facilitation category at Sabasaba.
The Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) took second place, while the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) came in third.
The annual trade fair is a key platform for promoting trade and investment. It attracts participants from public and private sectors, offering an opportunity to showcase products, services, and innovations.
