Young Africans SC (Yanga) concluded their 2024/2025 season on a high after securing the CRDB Bank Federation Cup title with a 2-0 win over Singida Black Stars in the final held at the New Amaan Stadium on Saturday, June 29, 2025.

Under the guidance of head coach Miloud Hamdi, Yanga delivered a dominant performance to add another silverware to their growing trophy cabinet.

The victory also reaffirmed their position as a powerhouse in Tanzanian football, having already clinched the NBC Premier League title earlier this season.

Kenyan midfielder Duke Abuya, who joined Yanga from Singida Fountain Gate during the mid-season transfer window, opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a composed finish after a well-orchestrated attacking move. The early goal gave Yanga momentum and control, forcing Singida to chase the game.

Despite spirited attempts by Singida Black Stars to equalise, Yanga maintained defensive discipline, with centre-back Dickson Job and goalkeeper Djigui Diarra putting in solid performances to deny any breakthroughs.

Yanga’s dominance was further reflected in the second half when young striker Clement Mzize netted the second goal in the 68th minute.

Mzize, one of the breakout performers this season, displayed maturity beyond his years to beat the goalkeeper with a low strike, sealing the victory for the Jangwani giants.

With this win, Yanga have completed a domestic double and secured their place in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup, where they will represent Tanzania.

On the other hand, Singida Black Stars, coached by David Ouma, earned praise for their impressive run to the final. Despite falling short, their performance throughout the tournament has underlined the club’s steady growth and ambition.

The final was attended by top government officials, football stakeholders, and representatives from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), all of whom commended both teams for their discipline and sportsmanship.

Yanga’s victory is yet another highlight in what has been a remarkable era for the club, as they continue to raise the bar in domestic and regional football.
