The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango, on Sunday visited Health 3000, a leading international manufacturer of medical equipment based in Rome, Italy, as part of efforts to attract cutting-edge health technologies to Tanzania.
Dr. Mpango, who is in Italy representing President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the Italy–Africa Development Partnership Summit (Mattei Plan), held strategic talks with the leadership of Health 3000 aimed at enhancing cooperation in health innovation, particularly in telemedicine.
He was received by the company’s Chairman, Mr. Maurizio Flammini, and Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Eleonora Flammini.
The discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in deploying modern health solutions in Tanzania, with a focus on strengthening service delivery through digital platforms.
“This is a critical time for Tanzania as we work to expand access to quality healthcare, especially in underserved areas. The role of technology in transforming our health systems cannot be overstated,” said Dr. Mpango during the meeting.
Health 3000 is part of FG Group, a diversified Italian conglomerate with a strong footprint in healthcare services and high-tech medical equipment manufacturing.
The company is renowned for integrating innovation and research to produce world-class medical technologies.
The visit marks a key step in the Tanzanian government’s ongoing agenda to foster partnerships that support its health sector reforms, particularly the integration of telemedicine and the localisation of medical device production.
Dr. Mpango’s mission in Italy includes participation in bilateral meetings with potential investors and development partners, reinforcing Tanzania’s position as a strategic partner in Africa’s transformation through technology and sustainable development.
The Mattei Plan summit, hosted by the Italian government, brings together African leaders and Italian institutions to forge development partnerships across critical sectors, including health, energy, infrastructure, and education.
