Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has described President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan as a courageous and visionary leader who has played a pivotal role in uniting the nation and accelerating development across key sectors of the economy.

Delivering the official motion to adjourn the 12th Parliament session in Dodoma on Thursday, the Premier hailed President Samia’s calm, patient, and determined leadership style, which he said has transformed Tanzania’s domestic and international standing.

"Her composure, resilience and commitment have served as a source of inspiration and reassurance to her team, the entire public service, and Tanzanians at large," said Mr Majaliwa.

He noted that since taking office, President Samia has remained steadfast in overseeing the implementation of flagship development projects, expanding access to social services, strengthening democracy, driving economic growth, and enhancing Tanzania’s diplomatic footprint.

“She has become a teacher of patience, a symbol of courage, and a beacon of hope for this generation. She has set a powerful example that women are capable of leading even at the highest level of national leadership,” he added.

Mr Majaliwa also highlighted President Samia’s growing international reputation, citing several prestigious global accolades that recognise her impact and vision for inclusive development.

These include the Global Gates Goalkeepers Award, the 2022 Babacar Ndiaye Trophy, the African Transformational Leadership Award, the Pyne Africa Honorary Award 2022, and a Top Tourism Leadership Award.

“These honours reflect the appreciation of the global community for her bold leadership in advancing economic transformation and social development,” said Mr Majaliwa.

At home, President Samia has received several special honours, including a Parliamentary Recognition Award for her outstanding service to the nation and efforts to build resilience against climate change.

Other accolades acknowledge her contributions to modernising agriculture, promoting access to quality education, and uplifting the lives of ordinary Tanzanians through inclusive policies and people-centred governance.

Her leadership has also been celebrated for strengthening the humanitarian space and supporting vulnerable communities.

According to the Premier, President Samia’s reformist agenda has earned her honorary doctorate degrees from top academic institutions both within and outside Tanzania.

Among them are the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), Jawaharlal Nehru University in India, Ankara University in Turkey, and the Korea Aerospace University.

“These academic honours are a clear endorsement of her visionary and inclusive leadership,” Majaliwa said.

The Prime Minister further praised public servants across all sectors for translating the President’s vision into measurable achievements.

"Today, we are proud of the Government’s performance across all ministries and sectors. These milestones are the result of dedicated efforts to faithfully execute the President’s directives and strategic roadmap," he said.

President Samia, who assumed the presidency in March 2021, has been widely commended for her reform-minded leadership style that emphasises unity, economic resilience, gender equality, and global engagement.

As her administration enters a new phase of execution and delivery, political analysts and development partners continue to cite her leadership as a model for inclusive governance and sustainable development across the African continent.
