Tanzanian female boxer Asia Meshack has vowed to defeat her rival Debora Mwenda in the highly anticipated Dar Boxing Derby (Samia Calling Fight) scheduled for July 26, 2025, in Dar es Salaam.
Hailing from Mbezi Golani, Asia is determined to prove that boxing is not about glamour, but about skill, strength, and preparation.
She is set to face Debora, who is known for her charm and confidence, in what is expected to be one of the headline bouts of the night.
Speaking during her training session, Asia sent a strong message to her opponent, warning that the ring is no place for showbiz.
“Boxing is not about beauty. Debora should prepare to be hit hard, like a punching bag,” Asia said. “I’ve been training consistently and my preparations are going well. I’m ready to fight and win.”
Asia also challenged Debora to show up and avoid the excuses that allegedly kept her out of last year’s fight.
“I hope she doesn’t back out again like she did last year. Let her come and prove herself. And for her own safety, I suggest she avoids riding motorbikes before the match she used that as an excuse before,” Asia added.
While Asia admits to having experienced setbacks in the past, she believes this upcoming fight is her chance to make a strong comeback and revive her boxing career.
“This is my time. I’m not going in to lose. I want to knock her out and move forward,” she stated.
Fans have also rallied behind Asia, confident that her focus and discipline will carry her through. One of her supporters, Shani Omari, dismissed Debora’s appeal to style and beauty.
“She needs to know that this is not a runway. It's a war zone. We’re not going to the ring to look pretty we’re going to win,” said Shani.
With tension building ahead of fight night, the bout between Asia and Debora is already generating buzz among boxing enthusiasts and promises to deliver fireworks in the ring.
