Tanzania is set to participate in the fourth Annual International Conference of the African Association of Accountants General (AAAG), which will bring together public finance professionals from across Africa in Eswatini from November 30 to December 4, 2026.
The conference, to be held at the Ezulwini Palazzo International Conference Centre, will focus on strengthening accountability, transparency and resilience in public financial management across the continent.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the conference will be held under the theme “From Reform to Results: Driving Accountable, Impactful and Resilient Public Finance in Africa.”
The meeting is expected to provide a platform for participating countries to exchange experiences, discuss challenges and develop practical resolutions aimed at improving public financial management systems.
The ministry said the conference’s main objective is to facilitate the exchange of experiences and constructive feedback while enabling participants to develop clear and actionable resolutions for future progress.
The AAAG, which brings together government accounting professionals, is seeking to strengthen financial management practices across Africa by promoting transparency and accountability and improving the government accounting profession.
The conference comes as African governments continue to face pressure to improve the management of public resources, strengthen oversight and ensure that public spending delivers tangible results to citizens.
Registration for the conference is already open through the official conference website.
The standard registration fee is USD600 for participants registering between September 1 and October 30, 2026, while late registration from November 1 will cost USD650.
The fees do not cover accommodation or travel expenses for delegates.
The Ministry of Finance said participants who successfully register will receive an official invitation letter together with an invoice containing bank details for payment.
It added that delegate data validation will begin on November 28, 2026, and cash payments will not be accepted at the conference.
The conference will provide African public finance institutions with an opportunity to assess how reforms in accounting and financial management are translating into stronger accountability and measurable results.
