Tanzania’s Embassy in Germany has emphasised the importance of transparency, prudent use of public resources and adherence to government procedures during a working visit by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation’s Internal Auditor General, Ibrahim Mamboya.
Mamboya is in Germany on an official working visit, during which he held discussions with Tanzania’s Ambassador to Germany, Hassani Iddi Mwamweta, and officials at the embassy.
The discussions focused on government working procedures and the need to strengthen systems that promote accountability and proper management of public resources.
The embassy said the visit provided an opportunity for officials to gain knowledge and exchange views on various aspects of government operations, particularly compliance with established procedures.
It described the visit as an important step towards strengthening transparency and ensuring that public resources are managed responsibly in line with government regulations.
“Proper adherence to procedures and responsible use of government resources are critical to achieving the objectives of the Ministry and the Government at large,” the embassy said.
The embassy thanked the ministry’s leadership for facilitating the visit, noting that such engagements help strengthen institutional capacity and improve the implementation of government responsibilities.
The visit also highlights the growing emphasis on internal oversight within public institutions, as effective auditing and compliance systems play a key role in safeguarding public resources and supporting efficient service delivery.
For citizens, stronger accountability mechanisms are important because they help ensure that public funds and other government resources are used for their intended purposes and contribute to better delivery of public services.
