Mineral indicative prices for September 01, 2026


The Mining Commission of Tanzania has issued indicative prices for gold, silver and copper for September 1, 2026, reflecting prevailing international market prices and corresponding domestic buying rates.

The latest figures show gold trading at USD 4,577.75 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 390,445.49 per gram at the world market reference price.

Under the indicative domestic pricing structure, gold has a mineral market price of TZS 351,400.94 per gram, while the buying centre price stands at TZS 343,592.03 per gram.

Silver is quoted at USD 70.26 per troy ounce, translating to TZS 5,992.62 per gram at the world market reference price. The mineral market price is TZS 5,393.35 per gram, while buying centres are expected to pay an indicative TZS 5,273.50 per gram.

For copper, the international reference price is USD 6.72 per pound, equivalent to TZS 39.28 per gram. The domestic mineral market price is set at TZS 35.35 per gram, with the indicative buying centre price at TZS 34.57 per gram.

The indicative prices provide a reference for mineral transactions and help improve transparency in the trading of minerals, particularly at designated buying centres.

The figures also underline the importance for miners and traders to understand the distinction between international reference prices, domestic mineral market prices and buying centre prices when conducting transactions.

The Mining Commission regularly publishes indicative mineral prices to guide stakeholders and support a more transparent and orderly mineral trading environment.
