Athletes, running enthusiasts, jogging clubs and runners have been invited to register for the Simba Marathon, scheduled for October 4 at Coco Beach in Dar es Salaam.
Simba Sports Club’s Head of Information and Communications, Ahmed Ally, said registration is ongoing, with participants required to pay a Sh45,000 entry fee.
He said the marathon is part of activities marking Simba SC’s 90th anniversary and will also raise funds to support former players who served the club at different times.
“The doors are open for stakeholders to come forward and participate together so that we can achieve the goals we have set,” Mr Ally said.
He added that preparations for the event were continuing to ensure the marathon is conducted professionally and provides a high level of competition.
The organisers are encouraging individuals and running groups to register and take part in the event as part of the club’s anniversary celebrations.
