The Dar es Salaam Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (DAWASA) will suspend water services for about 12 hours on Thursday, September 10, 2026, to allow preventive maintenance of water infrastructure.
The interruption will run from 6am to 6pm, affecting parts of Dar es Salaam and Coast regions.
DAWASA Head of Communications Everlasting Lyaro said the maintenance will be carried out at the Upper Ruvu Water Treatment Plant in Kibaha as part of preparations to minimise the impact of heavy rains expected in the coming period.
She said the works are intended to strengthen the system and ensure reliable water supply during adverse weather conditions.
DAWASA urged residents in the affected areas to store enough water for essential household needs during the maintenance period.
The authority also appealed for residents' cooperation as the works are carried out.
