Young Africans (Yanga) maintained their strong run in the NBC Premier League after claiming a comfortable 2-0 victory over Fountain Gate at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium yesterday.
The defending champions controlled large spells of the match and were rewarded with a goal in each half to secure maximum points in Arusha.
Yanga started brightly, putting pressure on Fountain Gate from the opening whistle as they looked to take control of the contest early.
Their pressure finally paid off in the 28th minute when striker Peter Shalulile broke the deadlock, giving Yanga a 1-0 lead.
Fountain Gate responded by pushing more players forward in search of an equaliser, but Yanga's defence stood firm and limited the home side's opportunities.

After the restart, Fountain Gate showed greater attacking intent, hoping to restore parity, while Yanga remained patient and looked for opportunities to put the match beyond their opponents.
Yanga's persistence was rewarded in the 76th minute when Mudathir Yahya scored the second goal, giving his side a commanding 2-0 advantage.
The goal forced Fountain Gate to commit more players forward, but their efforts failed to produce a breakthrough as Yanga remained disciplined at the back.
Despite late attempts by Fountain Gate to reduce the deficit, Yanga held on comfortably until the final whistle to claim all three points.
