TRA United head coach Etienne Ndayiragije says the team will conduct a thorough assessment with the club’s management after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Dodoma Jiji in the NBC Tanzania Premier League.
The defeat, suffered at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha, leaves TRA United with plenty to reflect on as they seek to improve their performance and results in the matches ahead.
Ndayiragije said the technical bench and club management would sit down to analyse the team’s performance and identify areas that require improvement.
“It was a difficult match, but we have accepted the result. This is football. What is important now is to sit down, identify where we went wrong and make the necessary improvements so that we can perform better in the coming matches,” he said.
The Burundian coach acknowledged that Dodoma Jiji showed better coordination during the game and made effective use of the opportunities they created to secure the decisive goal.
He said the defeat should serve as a lesson for his players as they prepare to return to action, stressing the need to address their weaknesses and improve their efficiency in future matches.
For Dodoma Jiji, head coach Mashami Vincent praised his players for achieving their main objective of collecting maximum points.
Vincent, however, acknowledged TRA United’s quality, describing them as a strong side that played with discipline throughout the encounter.
“TRA United are a good team and they played a disciplined game. We were fortunate that things went our way, but our target was to collect three points, and we have achieved it,” Vincent said.
The victory provides Dodoma Jiji with valuable points as they continue their league campaign, while TRA United will be hoping to respond strongly in their next fixture.
