President Samia Suluhu Hassan is today expected to witness the swearing-in of Deogratius John Ndejembi as the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The ceremony will be held at Chamwino State House in Dodoma, starting at 9:00am, marking the formal assumption of office by Mr Ndejembi.
The swearing-in follows his appointment to the country’s second-highest constitutional office and will pave the way for him to begin discharging the responsibilities assigned to the Vice President under the Constitution.
The Vice President plays a key role in supporting the President in the discharge of executive responsibilities and in coordinating matters relating to the Union Government.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by senior government officials and other invited guests.
