Mineral indicative prices for August 10, 2026


The Mining Commission has released indicative prices for gold, silver and copper for August 10, 2026, providing reference prices for mineral trading across the country.

According to the Commission, the world market price for gold stood at US$4,369 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS373,352.95 per gram.

The mineral market price for gold was set at TZS336,017.66 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS328,550.60 per gram.

For silver, the world market price was US$64.32 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS5,496.47 per gram.

The Commission set the mineral market price for silver at TZS4,946.82 per gram, with the buying centre price at TZS4,836.89 per gram.

Meanwhile, copper was quoted at a world market price of US$6.58 per pound, equivalent to TZS38.56 per gram.

The mineral market price for copper was set at TZS34.70 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS33.93 per gram.

The indicative prices provide a benchmark for mineral transactions and are intended to promote transparency and guide buyers, sellers and other stakeholders in Tanzania's mining industry.

The figures also show the significant difference between international market prices and domestic buying-centre prices, reflecting the various costs and factors considered in the local mineral trading chain.

The Mining Commission regularly publishes indicative mineral prices as part of efforts to strengthen transparency and orderly trading in the sector.
