Tanzania's Mining Commission has published the latest indicative mineral prices, showing gold continuing to trade at historically high levels, while silver and copper also maintained firm prices in the international market.
According to the commission's price bulletin released on July 24, 2026, the world market price of gold reached $4,105.10 per troy ounce, translating to TZS 349,828.67 per gram.
The commission set the domestic mineral market price for gold at TZS 314,845.80 per gram, while the buying centre price was fixed at TZS 307,849.23 per gram.
The indicative prices are used to guide transactions in Tanzania's mineral trading centres and support transparency in the country's mineral markets.
Silver prices also remained strong, with the global market price standing at $58.66 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 4,998.89 per gram.
The commission set the local mineral market price at TZS 4,499.00 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS 4,399.02 per gram.
For copper, the world market price was listed at $6.29 per pound, equivalent to TZS 36.76 per gram. The domestic mineral market price was set at TZS 33.08 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS 32.35 per gram.
The Mining Commission regularly publishes indicative mineral prices to provide miners, traders and buyers with reference prices that promote fair trade, improve price transparency and support tax compliance across Tanzania's mining sector.
