Fountain Gate intensify build-up for NBC Premier League campaign

Fountain Gate FC have stepped up preparations ahead of their opening fixture of the 2026/27 NBC Premier League season, with the squad undergoing intensive training following the postponement of the club’s Tanzanite Pre-Season tournament.

The Arusha-based side is now fully focused on building match fitness and tactical readiness before travelling to Singida for their league opener against Singida Black Stars on August 14 at Airtel Stadium.

Fountain Gate Information Officer Issa Mbuzi said the team’s preparations are progressing well, with friendly matches playing a key role in assessing the squad’s strength and identifying areas that require further improvement ahead of the new season.

“The preparations are going well. We are using friendly matches to evaluate our players, improve their understanding on the pitch and address areas that need strengthening before the league begins,” Mbuzi said.

He added that the club is exploring opportunities to arrange additional friendly matches against Premier League and Championship teams currently conducting pre-season camps in Arusha to expose the players to higher levels of competition.

“The players are in good condition and fully prepared for the league. They are continuing with intensive training under Head Coach Fred Minziro and his assistant Mathias Wandiba, who have both been handed new contracts,” he said.

Mbuzi said the team’s morale remains high, with players showing commitment and determination to start the season on a positive note.

With the new campaign approaching, Fountain Gate are working to ensure they enter the NBC Premier League with a well-prepared squad capable of competing strongly against Tanzania’s top-flight teams.
