The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has reaffirmed the importance of good governance, the rule of law and effective dispute resolution in strengthening investor confidence and attracting sustainable investment.
The authority delivered the message during the Tanzania Arbitration Week 2026 and the Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators (TIARB) Annual Arbitration Conference, held on July 22 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in Dar es Salaam.
The conference brought together senior government leaders, members of the judiciary, regulators, diplomats and arbitration professionals to discuss ways of improving Tanzania's investment climate through stronger legal and institutional frameworks.
The event was attended by Principal Judge Dr Mustafa Mohammed Siyani, representing the Chief Justice of Tanzania, Attorney General Hamza Saidi Johari, senior government officials, heads of regulatory authorities, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators (TIARB).
TISEZA was represented by its Foreign Investment Promotion Manager, Daudi Riganda, who joined a panel discussion on "Strengthening Investor Confidence through Good Governance, the Rule of Law, and Effective Dispute Resolution."
Panelists explored the role of investor confidence in enhancing economic competitiveness, the importance of the rule of law in attracting investment, judicial support for arbitration, regulatory certainty and institutional reforms aimed at building long-term investor trust.
TISEZA said effective dispute resolution mechanisms and a predictable regulatory environment are essential in promoting Tanzania as a competitive destination for both domestic and foreign investment.
The conference formed part of ongoing efforts to promote arbitration as an efficient mechanism for resolving commercial disputes while reinforcing confidence in Tanzania's investment and business environment.
