Tanzania, Poland strengthen trade and investment cooperation for economic growth

The Tanzania–Poland Business and Investment Forum held on July 1, 2026, at the Johari Rotana in Dar es Salaam has brought together senior government leaders, business communities, investors, and private sector stakeholders from both countries, with a strong focus on expanding trade, boosting investment, and creating jobs for citizens.

The forum provided an important platform for strengthening economic relations between Tanzania and Poland, with discussions centered on unlocking new investment opportunities, promoting technology transfer, and supporting sustainable development that benefits people in both nations.

Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President, Planning and Investment, Fred Msemwa, said Tanzania has registered 11 investment projects from Poland worth about 21.77 million US dollars, which have created 373 direct jobs.

He said the investments are spread across key sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, energy, finance, and transport, adding that these developments show growing confidence among Polish investors in Tanzania’s improving business environment.

He further noted that the Government continues to implement reforms aimed at improving the investment climate, removing bottlenecks, and ensuring that both local and foreign investors operate in a predictable and supportive environment that contributes to national development and job creation.

On behalf of Poland, Katarzyna Sobiecka from the Embassy of Poland in Tanzania reaffirmed her country’s commitment to strengthening long-term economic cooperation with Tanzania.

She said Poland is ready to expand collaboration through increased investment, transfer of modern technology, and innovation partnerships that can support industrial and agricultural development.

She also highlighted Poland’s experience in manufacturing, modern agriculture, renewable energy, and digital innovation, noting that Polish companies are increasingly interested in expanding their operations in Tanzania due to the country’s growing market and investment opportunities.

The Chairperson of the Board of the TISEZA, Aziz Mlima, said the forum reflects Tanzania’s commitment to implementing its long-term development agenda and strengthening international economic partnerships.

He said the engagement with Poland is expected to open more opportunities for citizens, especially in employment creation, skills development, and access to improved technologies that support productivity in key economic sectors.

Discussions during the forum emphasized the need to prioritize value addition, industrial growth, innovation, and youth employment as key pillars for inclusive economic development.

Participants agreed that stronger Tanzania–Poland cooperation should focus on ensuring that investments translate into tangible benefits for ordinary citizens, including more jobs, improved services, and increased economic opportunities.

The forum ended with a shared commitment from both sides to deepen cooperation and accelerate investment projects that will support sustainable development and improve livelihoods in Tanzania and Poland.
