The Mining Commission, together with institutions under the Ministry of Minerals, is showcasing Tanzania’s rich mineral resources at the 50th edition of the Sabasaba Trade Fair in Dar es Salaam.
The exhibition is taking place at the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds, where the government is using the platform to promote investment opportunities across the entire mining value chain, including exploration, mining, processing, beneficiation and mineral trade.
Through its participation, the Mining Commission is highlighting Tanzania’s position as a growing hub for sustainable mineral development, with increased focus on value addition and industrial growth.
Working with institutions under the Ministry of Minerals, the Commission is presenting ongoing reforms aimed at improving efficiency, transparency and the overall investment environment in the mining sector.
Officials said Tanzania is now prioritising value addition and downstream industries to ensure that minerals contribute more significantly to industrialisation, economic growth and job creation.
A major focus of the exhibition is promoting Local Content Guidelines, which aim to increase Tanzanian participation in mining activities.
These guidelines support local ownership, employment creation, skills development and technology transfer across the sector.
Officials emphasized that strengthening the role of Tanzanians in mining remains a key national priority to ensure that citizens benefit directly from the country’s mineral wealth.
Visitors to the pavilion are receiving information on investment procedures, mineral trading systems and opportunities available in both small-scale and large-scale mining operations.
Experts are also engaging directly with entrepreneurs and investors interested in entering the sector.
Students attending the fair are being introduced to career opportunities in geology, mining engineering, mineral processing and environmental management, as part of efforts to attract more young people into the industry.
The exhibition is part of the ongoing Sabasaba Trade Fair, being held at the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds, and will run until 13 July 2026.
Members of the public, investors and stakeholders are encouraged to visit the Ministry of Minerals pavilion to explore opportunities and learn more about Tanzania’s growing and dynamic mining sector.
