Tanzania, Mauritius pledge stronger ties as Ambassador Kaganda presents credentials

Tanzania and Mauritius have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations after Tanzania's Ambassador, CP Suzan S. Kaganda, presented her Letters of Credence to Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool on Sunday.

The presentation of credentials at the State House in Reduit formally marked the beginning of Ambassador Kaganda's diplomatic assignment to Mauritius, where she is concurrently accredited while residing in Harare, Zimbabwe.

During a meeting held after the ceremony, President Gokhool congratulated Ambassador Kaganda on her appointment and officially welcomed her to Mauritius. 

He reaffirmed his government's readiness to work closely with Tanzania and assured her of full support in carrying out her diplomatic responsibilities.

Ambassador Kaganda thanked the Mauritian government for the warm reception and pledged to deepen the longstanding ties between the two countries by promoting cooperation in priority sectors, including trade, investment, tourism and the blue economy.

She said expanding collaboration in these areas would unlock new economic opportunities, enhance investment flows and contribute to sustainable development in both countries.

The envoy also reiterated Tanzania's commitment to advancing mutually beneficial partnerships through closer diplomatic engagement and stronger economic cooperation.

Ambassador Kaganda is based in Harare, where she also serves as Tanzania's Ambassador to Zimbabwe, while holding concurrent accreditation to Mauritius.
