Singida Black Stars will depart for Kigali, Rwanda, on Tuesday to compete in the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup, with the regional tournament forming a key part of the club's preparations for the 2026/27 season.
Before crossing into Rwanda, the team's delegation will make a one-day stop in Geita Region on July 22, where players and officials are scheduled to tour the Bukombe Stadium construction project.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity to assess the progress of the facility and exchange experiences with project stakeholders.
The travelling squad will comprise the club's full first-team roster alongside a number of trialists currently being assessed by the technical bench.
The club said final decisions on the trial players will be made after the team returns from the tournament.
Singida Black Stars Information and Communications Manager Hussein Massanza said the CECAFA Kagame Cup offers an important platform for the club to fine-tune its preparations ahead of the new campaign.
"The tournament will enable the technical bench to continue evaluating the squad's performance and readiness for the upcoming season, while also providing an opportunity to assess the trial players before making final selection decisions," Massanza said.
The CECAFA Kagame Cup, which features leading clubs from East and Central Africa, is widely viewed as a competitive pre-season tournament, giving participating teams valuable match practice and an opportunity to test tactical approaches before their respective domestic leagues begin.
