Miss World Tanzania 2026, Latricia, has held talks with Tanzania's Ambassador to France, Saidi Othman Yakubu, on how young people can help promote the country's culture, tourism and the Kiswahili language on the international stage.

The meeting took place at the Tanzanian Embassy in Paris, where Latricia is attending activities to mark World Kiswahili Language Day

The celebrations, organised jointly by the Government of Tanzania and other stakeholders, seek to strengthen Kiswahili's position as a global language while advancing Tanzania's cultural diplomacy.

During the discussions, Ambassador Yakubu praised Latricia for representing Tanzania in international forums, saying young people and the beauty industry have become influential platforms for projecting the country's image abroad.

He encouraged her to use her public profile to champion Kiswahili, showcase Tanzania's rich cultural heritage and highlight the country's tourism potential to international audiences.

The envoy noted that youth engagement remains central to Tanzania's efforts to expand its cultural footprint and deepen global appreciation of the country's identity through language, arts and tourism.

Latricia reaffirmed her commitment to serving as a goodwill ambassador for Tanzania, saying she would continue supporting initiatives that promote Kiswahili and encourage more people around the world to learn the language.

She also pledged to use her international engagements to showcase Tanzania's cultural diversity and tourism attractions, underscoring the role of young ambassadors in strengthening the country's global visibility.
